Lesley manages Chilypep and the senior managers and core staff. She works with the Board of Trustees to make sure that the organisation is doing what it’s set up to do, and works with them, the staff and young people to develop and oversee our plans and ways of doing things. She secures the funding we need, and makes sure that we are doing everything legally and fairly.

Lesley is a qualified youth and community worker with over 30 years’ experience of youth and community work. She also has a Certificate in Education Post 16 and a Post Graduate qualification in Management in Health and Social Care. She has worked with lots of young people and communities around a whole range of issues, and set up Chilypep almost 20 years ago, using her experience of empowerment and participation work to develop the organisation.

Lesley’s favourite thing about working at Chilypep is that, even after 20 years, she wakes up every morning and looks forward to going to work! That’s because of the great team Chilypep has, the amazing work they do with young people, and most importantly to her, the difference that the organisation makes to the lives of young people, which inspires her every day to keep the organisation going!

Lesley loves gardening, watching movies, recycling furniture, and most of all, being with her family!
