I have over 40 years’ experience of youth and community work during which time I have engaged with young people in a pro-active participation/empowerment related way of working with them in their local communities.

My favourite thing(s) about being involved with Chilypep include being associated with such a wonderful organisation that’s working so positively and effectively with a wide range of young people. To be honest it’s a real privilege! Also having now retired from regular youth work practice, it affords me an opportunity to stay involved, share my experiences etc.

I’ve not got what some people would think of as hobbies, I don’t garden or do anything DIY or ‘crafty’, but I do enjoy anything to do with the Arts, listening to music (ideally live), going to gigs and concerts, theatre, cinema, attending exhibitions, eating out etc. I suppose photography could be a hobby? Oh and definitely, in future, travelling! I’m a Thursday’s child, so have ‘far to go’. I also volunteer locally as a member of crew with the Ethel Trust Community Barges Charity.

Lastly, I enjoy singing with Sheffield Socialist Choir and Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus!
