Aidan is the Project Coordinator for the RUBIC2 community cohesion and youth empowerment project. Together with my staff and the local community we work towards helping adults and young people in S4/5 work within and across local communities to make Sheffield a more cohesive town in which local people are able to make the changes they think are necessary to make Sheffield a better place to live. I could not be prouder to work with Chilypep, our staff, and the communities we support.
My favorite thing about working with Chilypep is that my co-workers are lovely and supportive, and the work we do has a clear impact on the lives of young people and adults. It makes me happy to help people grow and develop the skills they need to achieve their goals.
I have worked as a teacher in the UK, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, and Egypt, often working closely with community organisations to develop the human and education resources needed to make lives better for the disadvantaged. Before working with Chilypep I spent several years in Lebanon managing education projects supporting Syrian refugees and low income Lebanese to gain access to the education they deserve as a human right.
I love eating things that are bad for me, so I try not to do that so much! I enjoy travel, reading non-fiction books on world history and politics, watching series, and being physically active. I also enjoy practicing my language skills in Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese and French, especially as its so easy to lose them!
