I’m Louise, and I coordinate the Sheffield Youth Hub at Chilypep. My role involves working closely with young people to explore their goals, access new opportunities, and feel empowered in shaping their futures. Through creative, fun group sessions or community projects, I’m here to help young people feel heard, confident, and included.
I actually fell into youth work by accident during my school work experience at my local youth club – and I loved it so much I never looked back! I went on to volunteer for many years and eventually completed a degree in Community Education – Youth and Community Work. Since then, I’ve worked across a range of youth and family services, always with a focus on inclusion and accessibility, particularly for neurodivergent young people and those facing additional barriers.
What I love most about Chilypep is how young people genuinely lead the way. It’s a creative, compassionate space where everyone is encouraged to be themselves and make a difference.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outside paddle boarding, walking my dog, or practising yoga and mindfulness.
