Chilypep is currently working alongside statutory and voluntary services across Barnsley to develop a young people’s wellbeing HUB in Barnsley town centre, which young people have named H.O.M.E (‘Help with Our Mental ‘Ealth!). Supported by Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, the HUB will deliver a joint action plan by early intervention and prevention services to enable young people to receive advice, support, creative opportunities and influencing projects all in one place.

The HUB will include:

  • A Wellbeing Café
  • Access to youth groups and support run by Chilypep & partners
  • Access to drop in support
  • Access to IT facilities
  • Access to informative and supportive workshops, sessions and projects on themes identified as a priority by young people and other services
  • Systems for young people to access appointments with mental health and wellbeing services at the HUB
  • The Training Space for young people & professionals to use for workshops and courses
  • Outreach into local communities and schools

After listening to young people through consultation and work with our Young Commissioners over the last five years, Chilypep hope that the vision for the Barnsley hub can be realized. To have a coordinated, integrated mental health and wellbeing space dedicated to young people. They will be able to access interventions at an early stage and all partners across Barnsley can work together to provide a range of high quality, easily accessible and supportive services which will benefit young people creating a positive and welcoming H.O.M.E (‘Help with Our Mental ‘Ealth!).
