Chilypep has been working hard during the pandemic to keep staff and young people we work with as safe as we can, whilst still being able to offer ongoing support to young people. We can confirm that we have complied with the government’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 through the ‘five steps to safer working together’ in ensuring that all our work is fully risk assessed and our meeting spaces are ‘COVID secure’.

Chilypep is following the National Youth Association (NYA) guidance in relation to our youth work activities. We are really pleased to now be able to offer face-to-face group work and 1-1’s with our young people, whilst also keeping in place online offers for young people so as to be both flexible and inclusive to the needs, wishes and personal circumstances of young people we are working with.

Staff are transitioning back to office working, but will also continue working from home for some elements of work. If you want to chat to a staff member you can find our contact details here.

How we have responded to the pandemic…

Back in March 2020 Chilypep swiftly moved our work online and consulted with young people about the impacts of COVID on them and what we could do to respond. We quickly set up a range of activities for young people to engage in and enable them to stay connected to workers and each other. This has included continuing our ongoing group work, as well as creating additional activities that young people can engage in online.

We have worked with young people to create a ‘Chilypep Connections HUB’ and weekly activity schedule for young people to engage with – check out our young people’s corner for more information!
